Napa Golf Course Wedding at Wedgewood

Alyssa and Jamie’s story is that of a modern romance. They met through the popular dating app Tinder in 2014. Having no idea what would come of this encounter they both brought friends to their first date. They have been inseparable ever since. They like to say “we swiped right” when you ask them how they met. After a few months of dating, a very romantic proposal followed. Jamie and Alyssa both love fishing (as you will see in their wedding details) and often go to Jamie’s grandparents’ house in Copperopolis that is located right near the water. During one of the trips, Jamie asked the big question as they were fishing on the neighbor’s dock. One of the very special parts of the wedding was that Alyssa’s ill grandfather witnessed his granddaughter walk down the aisle. It was very bittersweet to watch their emotions and embraces after the ceremony. After a honeymoon in Mexico Alyssa and Jamie went on to enjoy their everyday lives as newlyweds and recently announced they are expecting a baby boy! Congratulations to the happy couple!

Letter from the bride:

I envisioned my wedding being very intimate and small with the closest of family and friends. I wanted a rustic country feel incorporated with fall and Napa and wine country! Definitely wanted our favorite hobby of fishing to be a part of our day. A lot of my inspiration came from our love for the outdoors and country living. Etsy was where I ordered almost everything that was a part of the wedding. Color scheme was stone with accents of aubergine (eggplant) and I incorporated burlap and some lace.

Unique elements would be the “You could be fishing instead” sign. A lot of my family and Jamie are big fishermen so I thought it was cute. DIY- I bought some wood pallets and used a bigger one for my table assignments. Stained the wood, added lace and printed everything that I attached. I also made all my centerpieces with the branches and fish table names with scrabble tiles. I thought the wooden scrabble tiles fit well with the theme. My wooden card box also spelt “CARDS” with thin wooden scrabble letters.

My favorite moment was our first dance and having my stepson join us on the dance floor! Favorite crafted detail would be the let love grow pots we made and planted succulents in for our guest gifts!

My dress had a lot of lace and open lace back. I wore it with my cowboy boots and loved that all my girls wore cowboy boots with their dresses as well! My flowers were a soft white with succulents and dusty miller I used extra material from my dress to wrap around the stems and lace from the bridesmaids’ dresses for their stems. My favors were succulents and I used succulents on my cake along with a burlap/lace ribbon, which went with the burlap/lace runners on my tables. My cake had a customer cake topper that was a groom kissing his bride on the forehead with his arm around her holding a fishing pole. At the end of the line it had a heart with our initials. I also loved our chair signs we hung in front of our table that said “HIS catch of a lifetime” and “HER lucky fisherman”

Advice for brides to be would be do not be caught up in perfection! Be present in each moment and have faith that all your efforts will be worth it :)
